The Middle East
I spent five weeks in the Middle East this year and LOVE IT! Yep. LOVED IT. I toured Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Turkey–part on my own and part with a group from Intrepid Travel. On a side note, Intrepid Travel rocked! Excellent leaders and guides who were there when we needed them but otherwise, let us do our own thing. Plus, they are all about green travel and promoting the local economy.
Anyway, one of the great things about traveling in the Middle East is that everyone is surprised to se Americans and when we do arrive…they treat us like rock stars. Yep–Rock Stars. I had my picture taken with more random people than I could count. They were just thrilled to have me there. Weird and humbling.
Anyway, these are some of the shots from my trip and the amazing people I met.
